“Cause of Death: Woman” is a unique investigative journey where you will meet women who survived violence and more intimately understand the brutality that harms and kills them, while also highlighting the strong forces working for change.
Between 2010 and 2012 photojournalist Linda Forsell and journalists Karin Alfredsson and Kerstin Weigl, traveled to ten countries widely spread across the globe, in order to more deeply examine the issue of violence against women, and to put a human face to the problem.
The project website was launched in March and this exhibition is its Asia premiere.
C. Interactive Theatre
Have you imagined that as a member of the audience, you can make decisions for characters in a play or even change the outcome of the story?
Forum Theatre is designed to provide a platform for the audiences to provide their input, so that they are no longer mere spectators in a performance. Instead they will have the opportunities to give suggestions regarding how the characters speak and behave in a play, and as a result become participants that influence how the plot is developed.
This sharing session features Beijing Playback Theatre Group, with professional advice from The Maple Women’s Psychological Counseling Center Beijing and theatre direction from Eddie Yu, Artistic Director of Encounter Playback Theatre, who is also the “joker” of the event.
